| “Thanksgiving” - a holy day in every believer’s heart Pray without ceasing, 1 Thessalonians 5:18 Giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Ephesians 5:20 Thanks be to God for His unspeakable gift, 2 Corinthians 9:15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God. 2 Corinthians 4:15 According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust. And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; 1 Timothy 1:11-12 These are amazing verses on thanksgiving for all of us to meditate on. Paul says in those verses to give thanks in everything, for everything, always and abounding. The Greek word for thanksgiving “eucharistia” means good and grace, well and grace. It is well with our souls because of grace. Grace is so, so good. Paul said: Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable gift! Salvation by grace – we are so thankful. We are given zoe-life by grace – thank You. Church is a gift to us; thank You. The Bible, God’s eternal, precise Word – thank You. The Gospel message in our hearts – thank You. An eternal purpose to glorify God – thank You. Friends that love at all times – thank You. Tests and trials to meet Jesus in – thank You. Security in Jesus – thank You. The fruit of the Spirit in us and through us – thank You. The Finished Work life in Christ – thank You. Heaven as our home forever with Jesus – thank You. Rather than concentrate or focus on all the negative things in life, we can so easily look to Jesus and be thankful. This decision to be thankful comes from receptivity to the truth in Jesus. Thank you for receiving from Him, and walking in life as a witness and testimony to this world.
